Joe Steinmetz

Joe brings nearly 50 years of industry and education experience to Granite State Trade School.

His education background includes:

Associates Degree in Applied Science, HVACR, Manchester Community College, 1977
DCNE Carrier Training, Cambridge MA: Gas and Oil Heat, Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning, Electricity and Controls, Air Handling and Properties of Air. 1976 to 1980.

He currently holds the following Licenses and Certifications:

State of NH Master Electrician 3413M
State of NH Gas Fitter GFE0801636, Endorsements: STN/STP
State of NH Experienced Educator, Heating and Air Conditioning, Teacher Certification, 1981 to 2012.

Joe spent 15 years working in the Plumbing, Heating, HVAC and Electrical trades before becoming an educator.

He served as Adjunct Faculty, Manchester Community College, Refrigeration Load Estimating, Air Conditioning Circuits and Controls (Heat Pumps) from 1980 to 1983 as well as Adjunct Faculty, Manchester Community College, Heating and NORA Oil Heat Instructor from 2011 to 2013. His stellar career in education was highlighted by 31 years as the HVAC and Electricity Instructor at prestigious Pinkerton Academy from 1981 to 2012.


Les Houston

New to Granite State Trade School, Les brings 20 years of industry experience in the retail propane and oil industry from California to New Hampshire. He has been active in various trade associations including the National Propane Gas Association, the Propane Gas Association of New England and the Oil Heat Council of New Hampshire.

Les has been a licensed Proctor and Instructor for the Certified Employee Training Program through Industrial Training Services and the Propane Education and Research Council for over 14 years. He has also taught Hunter Education for the State of New Hampshire for nearly 15 years.

Prior to entering the energy industry, Les served as a United States Marine for nearly 10 years, resigning as a Captain.

His education includes a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and US History from Norwich University.

William Gallo

Bill has been involved in the HVAC industry since the early 1980's. He holds HVAC certifications and gas licenses in multiple states.

His expertise includes industrial, commercial, and residential heating and cooling, refrigeration, and also GeoThermal systems. He served as product specialist for Amana/Goodman where he provided nationwide technical support and training.

He is a graduate of Technical Careers Institute where he received his HVAC degree and is also a graduate of Fairhaven Baptist College where he received his Associates Degree in Secondary Education.
